REBATES
Information on the Federal Solar Bonus Scheme can be found here
Solar rebates from state governments vary from state to state. The NSW solar bonus scheme has closed and at the time of writing there are no bonuses in NSW. However, the NSW government is investigating the feasibility of implementing certain incentives, and in all cases there would be no cost to the Government. The aim is for households that install solar panels and send electricity back into the grid to receive credits for that energy from their power provider, and these credits can be claimed back for use at night. This means the opportunity to eliminate your energy bill will once again become a viable proposition. Another incentive is to have the energy providers pay a nominal wholesale price for the power sent to the grid which they in turn will sell to your neighbours at retail. An announcement on the implementation of one or more of these types of incentives is expected very soon.
